Monica Moore, DVM was raised in Douglass, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University with her veterinary degree in 2003. She started working in a suburb of Kansas City, but moved to Wichita in 2008 to be closer to family. She took a position as a managing doctor at Herndon Veterinary Clinic and eventually purchased the clinic in 2017 along side her sister, Dr. April Horn. Together, they renamed the clinic Sisters Veterinary Clinic and lead the practice into the successful hospital it is today.
Dr. Moore tragically passed away with her daughter, Madison, in a car accident in December 2023, but the impact that she left on this world will never be forgotten. She loved veterinary medicine and especially loved getting to know the people and pets at Sisters Veterinary Clinic. She treated all clients as if they were family members, and she never shied away from a difficult situation. She always wanted to help people. She often said, 'I am blessed to get to do a job that I love every day.' She felt especially blessed to be working with her sister. Together, they had the perfect combination of skills and humor to keep the practice running smoothly everyday.
Dr. Moore's legacy as an incredible mother, devoted Christian, successful veterinarian, business owner, coach, mentor, and friend will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her, and her bright spirit will be carried on through her beautiful children, Katelyn, Andrew, and Kyler, and her husband, Kyle.
April Horn, DVM grew up in Douglass Kansas. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry from Southwestern University in 2004. She graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in a mixed animal practice in Augusta before joining Herndon Veterinary Clinic in 2009 and then purchasing the practice with her sister, Dr. Moore in 2017. Her primary interests include general and preventative medicine, surgery and behavior. She is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. April and her husband Josh have 2 kids, Reese and Lane. They also have three dogs (Molly, Bandit and Samson), two cats (Bobcat and Grey.) Dr. Horn is very close to her family; in fact, her oldest sister, Dr. Monica Moore, encouraged her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine so that they could work together. April also enjoys going to church, playing sports, going to the lake, and playing the piano.
Dr. Huebert grew up in the small town of Ingalls, KS. where she developed her love of animals through 4-H and family pets. She attended Tabor College for her undergraduate degree and then graduated with her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2009 from Kansas State University. Dr. Huebert practiced in Western Kansas for 6 years before moving further east and serving as a relief veterinarian for practices in Wichita and Central Kansas. Relief work allowed her to observe and practice a variety of diagnostics and treatment options. She learned that her favorite part of veterinary medicine was surgery. Dr. Huebert joined Sisters Veterinary Clinic in 2015. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. When not caring for your furry family members, she enjoys spending time with her 4 sons and their crew of dogs, cats and chickens. She also enjoys being active in her church, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Sammi Prester-Snapp is a Midwest girl with a flare for the exotic. She grew up in Salina, KS, but dreamed of working with all types of animals all over the world. During her time in veterinary school, Dr. Prester had the opportunity to work with many species and even traveled to Thailand to assist in veterinary care for elephants. So if you have an elephant that needs attention, she's your doctor, but she also loves working with dogs and cats! Dr. Prester graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at K-State in 2020 and has grown into the amazing veterinarian that you see today. She is especially skilled at soft tissue surgery and difficult medical cases. Have no doubt that Dr. Prester will give your pet the wonderful care it needs and the knowledgeable recommendations you need! Dr. Prester is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. When not at the clinic, Dr. Prester loves spending time with her husband and their young daughter, Maeve, or taking their dogs Maple (Goldendoodle) and Bailey (lab) for walks.
Andrea Hemmen, DVM was born in Wichita and began working in her teens as a kennel attendant at a local veterinary clinic. It was here that she discovered her love for veterinary medicine and decided to pursue it as a career. She graduated from Wichita State University in 2005 and moved to Manhattan to attend veterinary school at Kansas State University. The first day of class, she was assigned to a laboratory group, and Dr. Huebert happened to be one of the students she was grouped with. They spent the next four years learning anatomy, physiology, and clinical skills together. After graduating in 2009, Dr. Hemmen moved to Augusta, KS and worked for a mixed animal practice for two years. Then she returned home to Wichita to practice along side her mentor, Dr. Johnnie Bruner. It was during this time that she met and worked with Dr. Moore and Dr. Horn and formed a strong friendship that lasted for years. In 2024, Dr. Hemmen officially joined Sisters Veterinary Clinic, and she could not be more thrilled. 'It feels like a reunion of lifelong friends!'
Dr. Hemmen enjoys many areas of veterinary medicine especially ophthalmology and internal medicine. She is a member of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. In her free time, she enjoys learning new dances such as bollywood and bachata, spending time with her menagerie of pets including chinchillas, and going on Pinterest to find the newest craft project to attempt.
Kimberley Herron, DVM was born in Glendale, AZ on Luke Air Force base. Her family traveled frequently, eventually settling in Tulsa, OK. Dr. Herron graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1994 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. She completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 at Oklahoma State University and went on to practice in the Oklahoma City metro area for 26 years. She eventually moved to Wichita, KS and joined the team at Sisters Veterinary Clinic in 2025.
Dr. Herron brings a wealth of experience from her work in emergency medicine, intensive care, and general practice. Her primary interests include surgery, internal medicine, feline medicine, and emergency cases.
In her free time, Dr. Herron enjoys spending time with her daughter, Hannah, and her son Hayden along with his wife, Kyla. Dr. Herron is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys biking, sailing, paddleboarding, surfing, and hiking. She also loves to paint! However, at the end of the day, she loves to go home to her furry best friends, Harley and Tofu.
